(Okay, then, Silus; here I go, shaking all willy-nilly.) Well. I have a site that gives away background tiles, and on the download pages for the backgrounds, I have a javascript that automatically tiles the background when you click on it. Like here. This function evidently does not work in Mozilla, and presumably not in Netscape. I've downloaded Mozilla and tried out all the scripts I can find that do the tiling gig, and so far have found nothing that works with Mozilla. So, is this just entirely an IE-only thing, and thus I will never find anything that will work with Mozilla, et al, because they simply don't have the tiling gene? Or is there some other way of doing this that will work in Moz?
It wouldn't really be a big deal at all, because it's only a little convenience, but I also have tiles that I call "OverAlls", which are semi-transparent so that you can use them over different background colors and get different effects. On those download pages I also have a mouse-over color changer color chart, so you can view the tiled backgrounds over different colors, and pick the one you want to use. Like here. It's really difficult to see what's going on with these tiles without the ability to view them over colors.
Can any of you mad-skillz folk help me out?

Thu, August 7, 2003 - 1:16 PMI have no idea, but I'd like to say that your birdy was rockin' my desktop for a few weeks, until it received an honorable discharge. It's awesome.
That's all. -

Thu, August 7, 2003 - 2:01 PMhey, thanks! Unfortunately the link won't work because I had to disable direct access to images. Birdy is on this page. ('fraid I haven't made any wallpaper in about a million years...) -

Thu, August 7, 2003 - 4:47 PMGah, I wish (I *do* work in the web hosting biz after all, but I only speak Bind) I knew more about this stuff, but since I don't, I'm just gonna say I love all your tiles and stuff. I used to make crazyinsane tiles using POV-Ray back in the day (marble! MORE MARBLE!) and would like to know what you are using now, just photoshop or ??? -

Re: Re: Re: Tree doity boids sittin' on a coib.
Fri, August 8, 2003 - 12:01 AMjust Photoshop, but I've created some actions to make some things faster, and I also use Sandy Blair's simple filter's, which really save time on certain things I do over and over. Also, though I don't really use it because I already kind of have my preferred methods, sTile is a nice, small, fun (free) downloadable application for playing around with tiles. You can see an example of one of my sTile efforts on this page.
So. I've really been wanting to feature some "guest tiles" on the site from time to time. Interested, sweetie?
